A. The majority of our patients don’t experience any pain. What sets the Six Month Smiles

braces apart is that they use low force to move teeth more comfortably. That said, everyone is

different and you may experience some discomfort initially. It may be advisable to take some

mild painkillers such as ibuprofen or paracetamol during the first few days of your

treatment.

Q. Will the braces affect how I talk?

A. Possibly during the first week as you get used to your new braces but it should soon return

to normal.

Q. Will I have to wear a retainer after six months?

A. Your teeth have a tendency to move back to their natural position so a retainer brace will

prevent this (this goes for all types of orthodontic treatment, not just Six Month Smiles).

Our dentist will either provide you with a night-time removable retainer to wear, or you can

be fitted with a permanent bonded retainer on the back surfaces of your teeth.
